Date Of Death:April 21, 2011
Service Date:Family will greet friends from 4-7p.m. Monday at Allen Funeral Home.

Kristi Ann Raines, age 51, of Solsberry, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the Bloomington Hospital. She was born September 30, 1959, on the Island of Guam, to Lowell and Sharon Grider Blakley. Kristi was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Vincennes, Indiana, and spent the better part of her professional career with Indiana University as a dispatcher in the transportation department. Kristi was a true lover of animals, often time adopting those that were in need of a caring home. She also loved the outdoors, 4-wheeling and fishing on her family’s small lake. Above all else, Kristi was especially proud of her father’s career in the Navy, gladly referring to her self as a Navy brat. Kristi leaves behind her husband, Kent, of Solsberry; stepdaughters, Andrea Raines of Bloomington and Kaylea Raines of Gosport; her parents, Lowell and Sharon Blakley of Vincennes; a brother, Mark Blakley and his wife, Cathy, of Princeton; brother, Joel Blakley of Vincennes; and her father- and mother-in-law, Bob and Carol Raines of New Castle. She also leaves behind 3 nephews. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Kristi’s life will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 4155 South Old Highway 37, Bloomington. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in Kristi’s name may do so to the Humane Society. In Kristi’s unselfish and caring way, she made it known to her family that she became a complete and total organ donor so others may benefit. Her family lovingly carried out that wish.
